Perryville

The wind resource study in Perryville defied expectations of measuring exceptionally strong winds. It appears that local geographic features shield the test site and the nearby village from the ferocious winds common to the southern Alaska Peninsula coast. Even so, the community installed ten 3.7 kW Skystream wind turbines in 2008 and have been operating them successfully since. The project was highlighted in this Alaska Dispatch News article in 2011: http://www.adn.com/article/tiny-alaska-village-makes-wind-pay.
