Mekoryuk

Following a met tower wind study in Mekoryuk from 2005 to 2007 and subsequent feasibility analysis by GEC, two Northern Power Systems Northwind 100 A model wind turbines at 32 meter hub heights were installed in 2010, though not placed into operational status until 2011 following completion of a new automated power-generation control module. Between 2011 and 2014, the Mekoryuk wind turbines generated on average 215 MWh/yr of energy per year, equating to a 12 percent turbine capacity factor.

The Mekoryuk wind resource is Class 6 (one a scale of 1 to 7) and well suited to wind power with low turbulence and low shear, as documented in the attached reports.
